AHA HEARTSAVER CPR & AED Certification

The American Heart Association’s Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED courses are the standard for non-medical employees in many U.S. workplaces

Course Content for Compliance

The Heartsaver First Aid, CPR, and AED course covers:

Why Heartsaver is Common for Compliance

  • OSHA 1910.151 requires that in the absence of a nearby clinic or hospital, employers must have trained first aid and CPR personnel on-site

  • Many industries (construction, manufacturing, warehousing, customer service, education) mandate that employees be trained in fundamental life-saving skills - CPR for adults, children, and infants, and AED use — to meet safety and liability standards.

  • Heartsaver CPR/AED courses provide a two-year certification recognized by OSHA inspectors, insurance carriers, and safety audit teams.

  • This course satisfies the requirement for Medicaid Doula Providers

Certification & Renewal

  • Valid for 2 years; must be renewed before expiration to maintain compliance

  • Employers can require employees to complete Heartsaver before starting work or annually for renewal.
